GOP Congressman Complains About 5-Day Work Week
Poor Rep. Jack Kingston! The Georgia Congressman is complaining about the Democrats’ plan to become the “do something” Congress by conducting business at the Capitol five days a week. Imagine that, a five day work week! The horror!
It is to Rep. Kingston. Kingston, whose bio proudly proclaims his rating by the National Journal as 2005`s “most conservative member of the House,” claims the move is anti-family: his family, that is.
“Marriages suffer. The Democrats could care less about families — that’s what this says,” Kingston told the Washington Post, which reported that Kingston usually flies home to Georgia on Thursdays and return to Washington on Tuesdays.
Hey, Rep. Kingston: It’s called public service for a reason! If you didn’t know that Washington was, well, in Washington, not Georgia, then why did you run for office to begin with?
Imagine if Jack Kingston had to work two or three jobs like many Americans do. Think that might be hard on families? Just a bit? Hey, Rep. Kingston, is your family more important than anyone else’s?
